Masked man threatens victim at North East cashpoint a day after armed robbery

A man was threatened and had cash stolen from him by a masked man as he was using a cashpoint.

The incident took place on Eston's High Street on Wednesday (November 30) morning, a day after armed robbers stole cash and cigarettes from the Sainsbury store in Eston's Banksfield Road.

Officers from Cleveland Police are appealing for information about the latest incident which took place at 7.40am - and have asked people whether they witnessed the incident or saw the masked man as he fled the scene.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 7.40am, a man withdrawing cash from the Virgin cashpoint was approached by a man wearing a balaclava. The man made threats and demanded cash, then made off.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting reference number SE22216047, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

On Tuesday morning, at around 6.20am, armed robbers stole cigarettes and alcohol after raiding a Sainsbury's Local in Bankfields Road.

The incident saw two men enter the store brandishing weapons, stealing the goods and making off in the direction of Woodcock Close.

Speaking about the incident on Tuesday, a Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information after a robbery at Sainsbury's in Bankfields, Eston earlier this morning, Tuesday November, 29.

"Two men, armed with weapons, entered the store just before 6.20am and stole cigarettes and alcohol, before leaving in the direction of Woodcock Close.

"One of the men is described as wearing a blue hoody with a stripe down the arm, and dark blue bottoms. The other is described as wearing light denim jeans and a grey and yellow waterproof jacket. The two staff members were not physically harmed but they were left extremely shaken.

"We would appeal for anyone with information or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number, quoting Ref 215390. Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning 0800 555 111."

<p>Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found stabbed to death near a beauty spot in a leafy town.<br></p><p>Officers were called after the victim was discovered on Lady Lane, in Earlswood, Solihull, West Mids., at around 6.40pm on Tuesday (29/11).</p><p>Paramedics were called to the scene - near Earlswood Lakes reservoirs - but nothing could be done to save the man, who was aged in his 40s. </p><p>Detectives have launched a manhunt for the knifeman following the attack, which took place near The Red Lion pub along a country lane. </p><p>A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We've launched a murder investigation after a man was found fatally stabbed in Solihull.</p><p>"We were called to the junction of Braggs Farm Lane at Lady Lane just before 6.45am yesterday (29 November).</p><p>"A man in his 40s was found with serious injuries and sadly nothing could be done to save him.</p><p>"We're carrying out extensive enquiries to establish exactly what happened and why. </p><p>"We're supporting the man's family during this deeply distressing time.</p><p>"Anyone with information can contact is via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote log 515 of 29/11/22."</p><p>A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6.39am on Tuesday to an incident at the junction of Lady Lane and Braggs Farm Lane. </p><p>"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic attended the scene.</p><p>"Upon arrival we found a man.
